A talking dog named Don Matsugorou lives with his family, where only his owner's daughter is aware of his ability to speak. His owner, Mr. Matsuzawa, is a novelist residing in Chiba Prefecture. Don is injured after a confrontation with King, a neighbor's dog who is arrogant and overconfident. He also takes on the task of rescuing Chotaro, another dog who has been taken captive. During this, Don may develop feelings for Ogin, another dog.
