A middle school girl named Kaede is shy around boys despite her otherwise lively personality. After purchasing a decorated mug from a strange shop, she reads a message inside that promises a magical creature called a "muglox" if hot cocoa is poured into it while declaring a wish. Curious but doubtful, she wishes to go on a date with a popular boy in her class. A small blue creature named Mirumo appears, but instead of helping, he prefers to cause trouble and eat sweets. Mirumo is a fugitive prince from the muglox world, fleeing an arranged marriage. Pursuing him are Rirumu, Yashichi, and many other muglox with varying personalities. Their presence disrupts Kaede’s school life.
