Wakakusa no Yon Shimai

The Civil War has begun in the United States, and Mr. March, a doctor and father of four daughters, has left for the front. His wife is left to care for Margaret, the eldest; Josephine, a young writer; Elisabeth, who loves playing the piano; and Amy, the youngest who enjoys drawing. They meet their reclusive neighbor Mr. Lawrence and his grandson Laurie, who is about Josephine's age. The girls experience various challenges and moments of joy, dealing with Aunt March's strictness, personal conflicts, and the ongoing war, all while hoping for their father's safe return.
