Kuroki attempts to defeat Akio driving the Devil Z, but his engine fails due to excessive displacement, allowing Akio to buffer his R33 to a halt and end the race. Following this defeat, Kuroki undertakes repairs on his R33 by installing a new engine. In a separate development, Shima and Kitami travel to Osaka. Upon arrival, they encounter two half-brothers who drive Lancer Evolution vehicles. The episode concludes with these interactions, highlighting the mechanical aftermath of the race and the introduction of new characters in Osaka without further racing events.
