Kuroki Tomoko believed she would become popular immediately upon entering high school, but two months into the term, she has not spoken to any classmates. While her peers laugh over photos from a recent karaoke outing, Tomoko sits alone eating lunch and reading a book. This isolation prompts her to take action, as she resolves to improve her social skills and learn how to converse with others, particularly boys, in an effort to change her current image.
