Makoto Pursues Hikari to the Cliff Edge After Her Confession

Makoto discovers Hikari at the temple and learns her past after expressing his desire for universal happiness. Hikari reveals she was once a normal priestess who burned the temple to stop a ritual sacrifice. She attempted to kill her brother, the man responsible, only to learn he was freed from a curse while she was forced to assume it. Consequently, she has been killing people to protect the town ever since. Despite this revelation, Makoto maintains his belief that everyone can be happy. He follows Hikari as she flees and begs him to save her. She then jumps from a cliff edge, prompting Makoto to leap after her in an attempt to catch her.

Hikari recalls memories and performs Doukatai after being saved with Makoto

After being rescued, Hikari recovers her memories of Minamo’s mother and others, allowing the situation to clarify. Makoto reveals his childhood words to Minamo, prompting Hikari to understand her necessary course of action. She explains how her life has shifted since meeting the group and then performs the Doukatai ritual on herself, causing her to vanish. The following day, life appears to resume its normal routine. Makoto encounters a girl who looks like Hikari, potentially the real Hikari, before she disappears.
