Karen feels depressed because she failed to become a Pretty Cure. Nozomi believes Karen is destined to be the final Cure and attempts to recruit her again. Through this persistent effort, Karen eventually transforms into Cure Aqua. She officially joins the team as the fifth member of the PreCure group, completing the lineup.
