Jesse and Syrus discover Jaden unconscious in the complex. Syrus leaves to get help while Jesse stays with Jaden, who soon wakes up. They meet Trapper, a cruel hunter of cards with spirits who wants the Crystal Beasts. Jesse explains he has hunted Trapper for years after the villain stole a child's card. Trapper captures Sapphire Pegasus to lure the remaining beasts. A duel begins with high stakes: Jesse wins if Trapper returns the spirit, but Trapper wins if he gets all the Crystal Beast cards. Jesse accepts the challenge. However, Trapper quickly captures Amethyst Cat and Amber Mammoth, putting Jesse in immediate danger during the match.
