Jaden and his friends attend their graduation ceremony, followed by an evening thank-you party where Jaden is absent. He retreats to his dorm to pack for his upcoming adventure, but Winged Kuriboh appears and guides him to the exhibition gallery. There, Yugi Muto awaits and declares it time for a real graduation duel. Yugi explains that while Jaden has gained significant power over the past three years, he has lost something special that must be recovered. Upon holding his card over his deck, a timeslip transports Jaden to the past, where a younger Yugi awaits. Dueling this past version of Yugi is the key to retrieving that lost element. As the duel intensifies, Yami Yugi takes control, recognizing Jaden as a formidable opponent worthy of a serious challenge.
