Kentarou did not succeed in becoming a professional shogi player. He continues to play shogi to earn money, participating in amateur gambling matches. After losing to a player known as "Ukeshi" in Akihabara, he becomes more determined to improve, especially as he faces financial difficulties. He later discovers that the Ukeshi also runs a part-time house cleaning service that includes maid cosplay, a detail that adds to his curiosity about her.
