A man known as Bernst, regarded as the most powerful in the world of Dormant, has grown weary of endless triumph and recognition. Once a conqueror who unified the land, he now feels empty and longs for the passion he once knew. To recapture that feeling, he creates an avatar of himself on a separate world, granting it independent thought. This being, named Kratss, grows up unaware of his origins and the magical heritage he inherits. Raised in a rural village with no exposure to sorcery, Kratss instead develops immense physical strength. Over time, a tale emerges of a pair existing within one body: a refined spellcaster and a powerful, unrefined fighter.
