Amatsu Sora Naru
あまつそらなる
Chidori comes from a long line of tea ceremony practitioners but has little interest in the tradition or the family business. Preferring modern and foreign culture, she studies at an American university. When she returns to Japan, she must deal with her strict mother and the discomfort of wearing a kimono. She meets Saiuchi Tsumugi, a kimono merchant and cleaner who is polite but often sharp in his remarks. Though difficult to read, he does not entirely dismiss Chidori, and she finds herself returning to his shop. Before she can learn more about him, she must confront her mother’s plans for an arranged marriage. With Tsumugi’s somewhat blunt encouragement, Chidori begins to assert her own choices and take control of her future.
