Aoki Balkanalia

A young girl named Luca lives in a Bulgarian village under Ottoman control in the 16th century, suffering abuse from her adoptive family. Her only comfort comes from her adoptive brother, Lev, who shields her. When imperial soldiers come to the village seeking young boys, Lev is captured. Luca and Lev make a promise to be reunited, setting their paths on a course shaped by this vow.
