Tokio Sorano was found at a coin locker in Shinjuku Station twelve years prior and raised by a group of homeless people. Despite this difficult upbringing, he has become a well-known figure in the city and is now beginning middle school. His teacher, Masao Marui, attempts to connect with him, though Tokio remains unconventional in many ways. Upon entering school, Tokio displays impressive ball-handling skills, drawing attention from Miyako Takano, a member of the boys' soccer team.
