The 22nd century follows the devastating Third World War, which lasted from 2099 to 2126 without the use of nuclear weapons. Many former nations struggle to regain influence, while new entities like the Sacred Republique of Mumna and the Poseidon Organization emerge. Deunan Knute and Briareos Hecatonchires, former L.A. SWAT officers, survive the war and live in a ruined city until they meet Hitomi, who leads them to the powerful utopian city of Olympus. This city, a central force in global political, economic, and military affairs, integrates them into the elite ESWAT unit. Their role is to defend Olympus from threats and protect its global interests. As they join ESWAT, they become involved with various characters and groups connected to international schemes targeting Olympus.
