A catastrophic event known as the "black fog" has claimed half the planet, prompting the construction of towering 3,000-meter walls to isolate the affected region. Survivors reside in enclosed cities referred to as "Arks." Shidou Enishi, a Japanese survivor, operates a detective agency on the ninth Ark. During an investigation involving a burglary suspect, he uncovers a significant conspiracy potentially linked to the Rivigarudo syndrome, a condition that alters its victims into non-human forms.
