Set seven years before a certain boy ever reaches the Labyrinth City, this is Orario in a harsher age, torn by conflict and moral rot. Ryu Leon serves the goddess Astrea while trying to work out what justice actually means to her, supported by an Astrea Familia that stands out as one of the few decent things left in the city. Something malignant is gathering in the dark, and it is aimed at Orario itself.
