Esperanza becomes stuck in a virtual reality game when she is unable to log out. She is then moved 13 years backward in time and ends up in the unsettling mansion of the Earl of Avenedale, a mad scientist. To find a way out, she forms an alliance with Lord Avendale to accomplish a task that may enable her to return to the real world.
