Beast of East

A thousand years before the birth of Christ, a final ruler of an old dynasty, along with his companions, gave their lives to imprison a demon fox responsible for widespread chaos and despair. Centuries later, during the Heian period, the same golden-haired nine-tailed fox, known as Daji in China and Kayo in India, resurfaces in Japan. In Kyoto, a tragedy strikes Mikuzu's family when her father nearly shoots a fox with an arrow. Mikuzu, the daughter of a ronin, seeks help from her neighbor and childhood friend Onioumaru to find a cure for her critically ill father. When the demon fox captures Mikuzu, intending to begin a new cycle of destruction, efforts to rescue her and reseal the creature begin.
