An alternate history that asks what would have followed had Yi Sun-Sin survived the wound he took at the Battle of Noryang. He lives, the seven-year Imjin War ends, and his standing as the nation's savior drives King Seon-Jo to jealousy so acute that the king conspires with leading Seoin figures to seize him, brand him a traitor, and put him to death in secret, with his family killed, exiled, or enslaved. Rather than dying, Yi Sun-Sin wakes some thirty years in his own past, and sets about building a plan to repel the Japanese invasion, avenge his kin, and turn Joseon's armies against Japan, the Jurchen, and China.
