バーナード嬢曰く。
A girl who claims to be well-read in literature despite not having actually read the works she cites, and her book-loving friends, form the core of the story. Sawako Machida, nicknamed "Miss Bernard," aspires to be knowledgeable about famous books but relies on others to explain them to her. The narrative explores her interactions with significant literary and intellectual works such as the Bible, The Tale of the Heike, The Great Passage, and Fermat's Last Theorem, which she has not personally read.
