A town struggling with economic hardship turns its anger toward a deity living in a mountain temple, believing the god is responsible for their troubles. A fox spirit named Gin, who also lives at the temple, is upset by the humans' accusations against his master. Over time, he begins to understand and show some sympathy for the people.
