A 24-year-old man returns home on his birthday to find a woman demanding to be his girlfriend. Having been a loner since middle school, he is confused by her sudden interest. It is later revealed she works at his mother's company, and the arrangement was suggested by his mother. Refusing her would upset his mother and create tension at her workplace. The two attempt to maintain a pretend relationship.
