Haruki Nara is a 30-year-old salaryman who is hard on himself and others due to his demanding nature. He only feels comfortable being his true self around a middle-aged stranger named Haida, whom he refers to as "Papa." Following Haida's idea, they engage in an activity that Haruki had longed to do since childhood.
