A 16-year-old high school student and aspiring manga artist named Tatsuya Egawa believes he is disliked by the girls at his school. After his submission to Shonen Sunday is rejected, he searches online for advice and discovers a professional manga creator with the same name and birthday. Inspired by this real-life figure's work, he decides he needs to base his stories on real experiences and improve his ability to draw attractive female characters. Since he lacks experience interacting with girls, he sets out to get to know one at his school.
