Leann finds herself living as a priestess in a temple after being drawn into a novel, where she heals individuals afflicted by red strings that mark them for death. These strings are invisible to all but her and the main character. While treating an injured man, a red string binds them together, making it impossible to remove. The man is Abell, identified as the primary antagonist of the novel. Leann must now navigate her situation, seeking a way to avoid him and maintain the original story's course while hoping to live without interference.
