Gods once played a major role in the world and still do today. Occasionally, a human kills a god, either by accident or intent, and is cursed with the title "Campione," or God Slayer. This curse grants the power of the slain god and the duty to eliminate false gods attempting to dominate local regions. Godou Kusanagi became a Campione after unintentionally killing the Persian god of victory, Verethragna, and now possesses the god's ten forms: Bull, Ram, Camel, White Stallion, Goat, Boar, Raptor, The Wind, The Youth, and The Warrior. This power brings unavoidable complications, as the responsibilities of a god are difficult for a human to manage. Three women with strong magical and religious backgrounds have taken an interest in assisting him. However, it remains unclear whether their help is genuine or if they are motivated by personal feelings. The leader of the group, Erica Brandelli, is a skilled swordswoman whose involvement in these unusual circumstances is yet to be explained.
