Shin Woo-Jin was taken as a child and held captive in a warehouse, where he was forced into servitude. He was eventually rescued and reintroduced to the outside world, but he remained different from other children. He possessed a rare ability to interpret people's inner thoughts and emotions by noticing subtle expressions and body language. Using this skill, he began to understand and interact with the world around him, much like a psychological observer. However, his heightened perception made it difficult for him to live a typical life. Despite his desire for a quiet and uncomplicated existence, circumstances continually challenged his efforts to remain ordinary.
