Hayato Nanjo is the son of Japan's most renowned bat maker. Using a bat crafted by his father, he sets out to achieve success in baseball. The story includes appearances by legendary players such as Sadaharu Oh and Shigeo Nagashima. It is one of the earliest manga series to be serialized in Shonen Jump.
