Kamijou is admired at work for his problem-solving skills and is popular with women outside of it. Despite this, he is only interested in Xianglan, a Chinese restaurant waitress and immigrant who does not see him as more than a customer. Language barriers due to her limited Japanese hinder their communication. The story explores whether Kamijou can win Xianglan's affection or if his efforts will continue to be unsuccessful.
