Chu Xuan awakens in a cultivation world as a member of the Wuji Sect, a group of demon cultivators who extract energy from the environment by killing. To reach the rank of Great Demon Lord, one must slaughter many. The sect is targeted and wiped out by opposing forces due to the moral consequences of their methods. While facing his likely end, Chu Xuan discovers a device called the Blood Mirror, which transports him to a ruined world overrun by the undead.
