A high school senior named Hatano Takaki is eager to embrace adulthood. One day, he is drawn to a café and its enigmatic owner, a woman who appears burdened by unspoken sorrow. As he spends time with her and other regulars, he begins to experience the complex emotions tied to relationships and the transition into adulthood through his interactions and the shared experience of drinking coffee.
