Cupcake to Koi no Katbutsu

Reina Takane is a high school freshman known for her beauty and dedication to karate and academics, which makes it hard for her to connect with her classmates. After summer break, Kibon Hira, a usually quiet student, causes a stir by expressing dislike for receiving homemade cupcakes, which is misinterpreted as a romantic declaration. Yuri, the class's most popular girl, jokes about confessing to Hira, but when ignored, falsely claims that Takane is in love with her. This leads to an unexpected bond between Takane and Hira, who grow closer through shared activities like the sports festival and cultural events. Takane finds herself appreciating Hira's kindness and work ethic, though she worries their friendship is based on a lie. Yuri later complicates things by exposing details about Reina's mother in front of the class.
