An amnesiac student named Ryouko Otonashi attends Hope's Peak Academy and develops a fascination with Yasuke Matsuda, an Ultimate Neurologist known for her sharp personality. A month after a tragic event at the academy, tensions remain high as students and staff seek answers about what occurred and who is responsible. Although Ryouko tries to avoid getting involved, she is linked to the incident and gradually becomes entangled in its consequences, uncovering more details about the tragedy over time.
