Kiichi Sakuraba, a 29-year-old man overwhelmed by life, has lost interest in relationships after his best friend marries. Returning from the wedding, he drinks heavily and passes out at a familiar bar. He wakes up to find Nao Kijima, a 20-year-old university student, waiting for him. The two agree to meet weekly for what becomes a structured hugging therapy session. Whether this arrangement might evolve into something more remains uncertain.
