In 1586 England, a princess flees after her father's sudden death, evading Sir Robert who seeks to force her into marriage. She heads to the palace to seek aid from her godmother, Queen Elizabeth. Along the way, she encounters a jester named Tarleton and enlists his help. To avoid detection, she shaves her golden hair and disguises herself as a boy, posing as his apprentice. Together, they begin a journey that will be filled with challenges.
