Lyrica is an 8-year-old girl who lives in the slums with a mother who pays her little attention. To cope, she uses her imagination to escape her difficult life. Her mother, after experiencing a vision of a terrible future, becomes determined to change Lyrica’s fate and creates a plan for her. To Lyrica’s surprise, the plan involves marrying the emperor. Suddenly given a life of luxury, she must learn to deal with reality, even as her imagination has always helped her avoid it.
