An amnesiac character named Elia wishes for a quiet existence in the woods but becomes entangled in the main story after saving a child who looks like her missing sibling. This child is revealed to be the story’s antagonist. She becomes involved in efforts to remove a fairy curse affecting the villain’s brother and ends up in a contractual marriage. Elia begins to question whether she is responsible for the ensuing complications.
