Kouji works at his grandmother's resort during the winter when he meets Kazusa, a skilled doll maker, and her cousin Fuyuki. He becomes infatuated with Fuyuki, who has ceased growing and remains at the age of thirteen. Kazusa uses her as a model for her doll creations.
