This novel serves as a prequel to the main manga and *Ga-Rei: Zero*, marking the beginning of the series' events. It details the initial meeting and growing bond between Yomi, Kagura, and Mei. The story also explores the backgrounds of the Agency members and explains how Kazuhiro Mitogawa came into possession of the sesshoseki.
