Astronaut Webber Jones returns to Earth after spending 20 years in space with only an AI robot dog for company. Over time, he has become unable to distinguish between dogs and humans. Psychiatrist Benjamin Rogers, who is assigned to treat him, finds the case more complicated than anticipated. Not only does Webber see him as a pet, but Benjamin also discovers that he is physically and emotionally attracted to his patient. As their dynamic becomes more complex, Benjamin realizes the situation may be more difficult to handle than he originally thought.
