In an alternate 2019 Kyoto, various factions including Mobile Warrior Monks, JSDF Special Forces, and eccentric scientists seek the Gaira Factor, hidden in an underground temple. The Gaira Six Poets, a team of genetically modified individuals led by Zenkyo, known as the "pipe walker," are the only ones capable of opposing them. The story is presented as a futuristic cult classic that emerged before Japan's cyberpunk movement gained popularity.
