Arisugawa Hikaru, a first-year high school student, is part of a group known as Gaitou, individuals who appear in dreams to remove the darkness from people's hearts. Alongside his partner Ban, Hikaru pursues Gai rabbits, lesser demons that feed on human despair. Their mission is to prevent people from succumbing to hopelessness, though the true challenges have not yet started.
