Kanna Tezuka is a 15-year-old manga artist who is already professionally published. When her high school introduces a manga drawing course, she is initially excited. However, the experience turns out to be problematic. The teacher is ineffective, and the only other students are three aspiring artists who see Kanna as their reluctant mentor. These students hold unrealistic views about what it means to be an artist. If Kanna cannot help them gain a more realistic perspective, she risks being unable to complete her own work.
