A subterranean society exists for those cast out from the surface world. Komugida attempts to escape by gaining entry to a university above ground but ultimately returns to live among them, becoming a tutor to Theo, a boy with the ability to divine. Theo's father, Nagasa, is described by Komugida as a "mafia killer." Life in this underground realm is difficult, and its residents struggle to endure in an environment cut off from the surface. The volume also contains a separate, unrelated one-shot.
