Gerard to Jacques

Before the French Revolution begins, a man from the lower class visits an upscale brothel and has a sexual encounter with Jacques, a young aristocrat who has been forced into prostitution. He then purchases Jacques' freedom. Despite their mutual disdain—Jacques for the common people and the man for the nobility—they are reunited when Jacques becomes the man's household servant. Over time, Jacques' desire to build his own future and the man's unexpected, eccentric acts of kindness lead the two to develop a romantic relationship.
