Yvonne Brigejer is a demidragon and archmage bonded to the dragon Roigenkistro. As a dragon’s chosen, she sometimes exhibits coldness and detachment. In a moment of anger, she attempts to harm her unborn child and compels Roigenkistro to vow to protect her and her lover, Jeye. When Roigenkistro fails to uphold this promise and Jeye dies, Yvonne decides to take her own life. Instead of joining Jeye in death, she awakens in an unfamiliar world where her past with Jeye is forgotten and Roigenkistro is nowhere to be found. She must now navigate this new reality and uncover what happened to those she loved.
