Gidarim

A woman named Gwija, whose story is recounted by her daughter Jina, was married at 17 to a stranger after rumors spread that the Japanese were taking unmarried girls. After Japan's defeat and Korea's independence, Gwija and her husband began a family. As conflict arose, the family fled south. During their escape, Gwija became separated from her husband and son while tending to her infant daughter. Over the next seventy years, she waited for their return. Now an elderly woman, Gwija’s daughter Jina is determined to fulfill a promise to help locate her missing brother.
