Ginnikan

A boy named Tsurunosuke is taken in by Wasuke, the owner of a konnyaku shop in Tenma, Osaka, after his father is killed in a vendetta. Wasuke makes him his apprentice, and Tsurunosuke decides to pursue a life as a merchant. However, his path is soon disrupted by unforeseen and turbulent events. The manga is based on a historical novel by Kaoru Takada, a well-known author of historical fiction.
