Choi Mi-Hun experiences the deaths of his parents on the day he graduates from middle school when they are hit by a truck. The trauma leads to a panic disorder, causing him to perceive everyday situations as dangerous. He withdraws from society, becoming a reclusive individual. A childhood neighbor, Seon-Ah, remains his sole connection to the outside world, visiting him occasionally. When enigmatic individuals move into the house next door and display odd behavior, Mi-Hun becomes intrigued despite his isolation.
